He is an Army Veteran, having served in World War II in the South Pacific as an Army Engineer. He delivered Meals on Wheels for 25 years and also helped to manage a hotel in Cedar Rapids. Anna Mae was born July 21, 1928 in Dubuque, the daughter of Clarence and Ida (Waechter) Miller. She enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, and she made friends everywhere she went and always remembered their birthdays with a card. Anna Mae was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, enjoyed traveling, and spent over 30 years with her husband during the winter in Waikiki, HI.He was active in fundraising for organizations such as ‘Ahahui Koa Anuenue (Hawaii Athletics) and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.Gilman was very proud of his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Surviving are his children: Dorothy "Lee" (Jon) Budar-Danoff, of Columbia, MD, Valerie "Lacie" (Tom) Peckosh, of Dubuque, IA, Lillian (Gary) Budar-Krukoski, of Kingman, AZ, and Ramona "Jamie" (Kevin) Sergent, of Honolulu, HI; nine grandchildren, Noelani, Gilman, and Daniel Budar-Danoff, Emily, Carolyn, Jacquelyn, and T. Peckosh, and Nani and Kenzie Sergent; and a sister, Bonnie Branch, of Florence, MA. Mc Dermott, 95, of rural Bernard, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade.He is also survived by his cherished feline companion "Pussy Kat." He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard (Eve) Budar Jr, two sisters, Valjeanne and Dorothy, and a brother-in-law, Chuck Branch.
